Calem AI - Part 5: WO Assistant

WO Assistant (Ask AI) is available in the coming release of R2026f in September 2026. The feature enables a user to troubleshoot a WO by asking "How was the WO resolved?" (screenshot below). A user may also ask for instructions to perform a PM step.

1. Quick Questions

Frequently asked questions may be defined so users can ask questions without typing them.

Menu path: Org | Open | WO Quick Questions (AI)
A question may include info of current work order such as WO Subject, Description and WO Step.
Quick questions may save time for field technicians to ask questions without typing them.

2. Asset Docs and WO History

Question are answered based on asset docs and WO history.

Calem indexes asset docs for efficient search. WO Assistant searches the docs based on the asset of a WO, and collects the top-ranked chunks of asset docs for LLM queries.
Corrective WOs that have been completed are indexed by Calem for efficient search. Calem Assistant searched the WOs based on the asset of a WO, and includes top-ranked WO chunks for LLM queries.

3. LLM Integration

A Large Language Model (LLM) is the brain of the WO Assistant. Popular LLM suppliers include OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google. An LLM needs to be configured for the feature to work.

An LLM includes an API key (encrypted at rest, editable), an LLM model, Base URL for API, and cost rates by million tokens.
A token is equal to about 3/4 of a word. The cost rates may be looked up by models at supplier sites.
