Calem Enterprise Edition is an enterprise EAM/CMMS solution including advanced features and modules for enterprise customers.
Customers can have as many users defined in Calem as needed. However, a valid license is required for a user to log into Calem. Calem offers both fixed and floating licenses to help organizations maximize their return of investment.
- Fixed Licenses:
- A fixed license is associated with a single user name. It allows the named user to always log into Calem.
- Fixed seats (licenses) are intended for users who use the system frequently. For instance, Jason is a maintenance technician and uses the system to do his job. A fixed seat may be assigned to Jason.
- Fixed seats can be allocated by sites. See more discussion below..
- Floating Licenses:
- A floating license is not assigned to a single user name.
- It can be used by any user without a fixed license assigned.
- It is on a first-come-first-serve basis.
- Floating licenses are more cost effective than purchasing a fixed license for every user who may use Calem. For example, a client chooses floating licenses for the entire organization. The number of floating licenses may be selected based on peak usage of Calem.
- Alternatively, floating licenses may be deployed for users who do not use Calem all the time. For instance, financial users run reports once a week. They may use floating licenses shared with other users.
- A combination of fixed and floating licenses may be selected based on usage patterns in your organization to lower the cost of licenses.
Fixed/Floating and Multi-Sites
Multi-Sites are the cases when you are providing service to more than one site in your Calem.
- Fixed user licenses may be allocated for each tenant (site).
- For instance, five licenses are allocated to Site1; ten licenses are allocated to Site2
- Floating licenses are shared by all the tenants (sites).
- The solution is to have sufficient floating licenses to account for users of the organization.
The following is the diagram showing the use of fixed and floating seats when users log in to Calem Enterprise.
